Gail Harker’s Whirlwind Tour of the Glories of British Textiles

 

This is a special two week tour aimed at our Certificate and Diploma students and any others who have a love of textiles. Our tours operate every other year. Tour leaders are Gail and Don Harker. Gail is the director/tutor at the Oak Harbor Creative Studies Center and has organized these very specialized tours first in Britain and then from the United States since 1999. Gail and Don lived in Britain for 20 years and love to share the wealth of information about the art and textile world that they have encountered over the years. We visit a number of places in Britain and France with the goal of seeing extraordinary art and textiles.  Of course along the way there is great exposure to fabulous architecture, great food and wonderful people. It is a rare and exciting visit that would not be available to the average tourist.  Our students call it An Experience of a Lifetime.
